GUNDAM: Geara Doga Prototype by sergiosoares GUNDAM: Geara Doga Prototype by sergiosoares
I gave this mecha my personal taste, line wise, it's very close tho to the Gundam Geara Doga 119.

Still needs some tweaks but not enough time for those so this is it for now.

great design and good textures, the really bump out!
maby a little tip since you asked: some more damage on the parts that are sticking out would be nice.

It doesnt look very proportional- the legs are very short.

The legs start where the yellow belt ends. Not lower.

Thx for checking it out.

Possible, but the audience is not supposed to know that if the design doesn't show it properly.

It's really quite evident madcomm.

Thx again :) Have a nice day.

Actually, no.

From the POV and the way the legs are placed, and due to how other people look at it, it looks like the leg connection is under the skirt.

this could be fixed by lenghtening legs + spreading thigs.

Dude, ok. No problem speaking your peace but I know where the legs start. I don't have to agree with you.

You can disagree seriously no problem :) thx for feedback.

I know we both know where the legs are. My point is how it looks like where they are joined.

DA is for criticisim for improvement. But I can tell you are starting to freak out, so I'll just say this and we can both be happy:

Your work is awesome. This artwork is awesome. You did a good job and everyone likes it.

I don't freak out lol! I'm just saying you aren't the "audience".

Don't assume stuff. Like... "I can tell you are starting to freak out"
Do not assume stuff about me please.

I LOVE feedback, all kind of it, I don't have to agree with it tho and that you know :)

Peace madcomm thx for all the feedback.

Sorry but I'm a bit brain dead right now and I can't tell whether it's holding a gun or metal guitar :) . Anyway I love the detail you put into these pictures, it amazes me.

lol Thx Screenscan. The gun was funny to make because of its size :)

Textures are handpainted so it's a real pain and when someone likes them I really smile!! Thank you again, always cool to see your feedback.

(short question about your texturing
do you unwrapp them and then paint them by hand, or do you paint on the model (i dont know how z-brush works..) ?)

cheers
always a pleasure to see your mecha thingies ;)

Hi Screenscan,

My texturing is pretty straight forward. For most of my deviantart stuff what I do is I render a white model, here I uploaded a model in white so you can see what I mean:
[link]

Then I take the PSD of it to PhotoShop and pain on it just like I would on a drawing. I could also paint in Zbrush but I prefer PhotoShop for that.

Thx for all the feedback :D

so you dont texture, you do render your models as a 2d pic and then paint 2d?
(aint that a waste of great work, since you then cannot pose the model in another angle/pose??)

its great anyhow
:)

:D I never go back to a model I do for fun, that's the why on that work process. Also this way I don't lose grip to my illustration skills. Textures become more fun to do this way.

If I do something professional then it's another work process, way more boring. :)

Lovely texture :XD: I little bit confuse what you try to achieve with this proportion. Are you trying chibi like proportion or human proportion?

Sweet eyes Bronco.

This is actually a Gundam mecha in a macross style proportion, chest wise. I look at this and still see a Macross mecha... it's in my blood, very hard to create mechas without a Macross influence.

The gun was over sized a little on purpose because of that.
